Training workshop on 'Irrigation & Efficient Irrigation System' begins

A three-day training workshop on "Irrigation and Efficient Irrigation System" was started at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agriculture University, Peshawar here on Tuesday.
The workshop inaugurated by Hussain Zada, Secretary Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operatives, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, organised by Department of Planning & Development, University of Agriculture in collaboration with GIZ and DEWAH (NGO), to educate the farmers by providing them practical knowledge and demonstration on irrigation. During the three-day workshop, the farmers will visit the university dairy farm to gain knowledge about livestock management.
At inaugural ceremony, Dr Muhammad Afzal, Vice Chancellor, University of Agriculture, Peshawar, Syed Mohammad Ishtiaq, Member of University Senate/MPA, and director general of Agriculture Research, Extension and Registrar of Co-operatives were also attended the function.
While addressing on the occasion, the secretary Agriculture informed the participants about the policy guidelines of Agriculture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also heard the views of the participants and assured them to solve their problems regarding water scarcity. Dr Muhammad Afzal, in his welcome address assured them that they will be provided all the facilities on the Campus including boarding lodging and refreshment. A presentation was also delivered that elaborated on the university ranking, research achievements, development projects, students' activities and outreach activities.
