MTL launches new tractor models MF 350 Plus, MF 360

Millat Tractors Limited (MLT), the manufacturer of Massey Fergusan tractors in Pakistan, launched its new tractor models; MF 350 Plus and MF-360, at a local hotel here on Thursday. The launching ceremony was attended by progressive farmers, industrial users, company dealers, vendors and officials from various government departments.
Launching the new models, MTL chairman Sikandar Mustafa Khan said that the new models had been developed by the Pakistani engineers keeping in view the farming needs and affordability of the local customers. "The models are more than 90 percent indigenized, economical, efficient, and easy to operate. These are equipped with fuel efficient high performance engine, heavy duty front and rear axle, robust front support, oil immersed multi disc brake system, hydrostatic power steering, longer wheel base - increased stability and pulling power," he added. Mustafa said that the local manufacturing industry was not only sufficient in meeting tractor demand of the farmers nation-wide but the industry in collaboration with its vendors was also a source of employment for thousands of people.
"MTL is also committed to strengthen the nation economically by paying off due taxes and by helping to save precious foreign exchange reserves through localisation of tractors," he added. CEO Millat Tractors Syed Muhammad Irfan Aqeel said that despite may difficulties, MTL was able to achieve tractor sales target of 32,00 during the year 2012-13 year. He said that MTL had sixty five percent share of the local market. While staying cost effective, these tractors are produced with an aim to provide affordable and efficient solution for the customers, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Agriculture Punjab Dr Ijaz Munir appreciated MTL's role in the national economy and boost of agriculture sector. He assured government's commitment to support farming community, particularly through subsidy schemes like Green Tractor Scheme Punjab and other measures to boost the mechanised process.
